Microsoft Office 2003, just a little too helpful
I just bought a copy of Microsoft Office 2003 and it is a little too helpful. Besides the fact that eBay is in the dictionary with the correct spelling. The office suite has a clipboard list that lists the last ten things that were copied. The office suite opens suggestion, search, and welcome windows in the left 1/3 of the screen. This window is very annoying. Not only does it take a full 2.5 seconds to close it, it make me lose my train of thought.
I must give props to Microsoft for trying to solve problems, but adding extra keystrokes is just a waist of my time. The fact that the extra features interupt my train of thought, makes me want to go and get new program that doesn't have this feature. The new features to me are not a good improvement. The new features decrease productivity.
I know what you are thinking. I am stuck in the past and not open to change. Wrong, I love technology and I love new improvements. I just believe that the new features to office 2003 are not helpful as they interrupt your train of thought as they re-adjust your screen. They force you to look at the new feature. They force you to stop what you are doing and close them.
I must say that I hate the new office suite. The only problem is that the school and everyone else around me has updated forcing me to update. Some times technological advances are a step backward.

I totally agree about Microsoft Office 2003. I also believe that all of this started with Microsoft 2000. Why in the hell do I need every internet address turned into a hyperlink. For god sake, I am creating a printed paper in which hyperlinks are invalid. With the advent of color printing Microsoft Office is a hinderance. I have to go through each document and remove every single hyperlink, otherwise I am waisting color.
Give me a new version of office that I can turn off all of the features that I want.
